Sandy Relief Concert

Our most current project orchestrated by MAD4kids Ramapo High School, was a benefit concert with a local up and coming band called FourShadows.

When children and families in our own backyard got hit by Hurricane Sandy this past October, MAD4kids and Fourshadows decided to bring our charity endeavors to our community. We decided to team together to help victims of Hurricane Sandy because both groups feel strongly about being a positive force in the community and helping others in times of need however it may occur.

The event was held Wednesday November 21, 2012. Through extreme generousity of The Brick House (in Wyckoff, NJ) we were able to have a venue to fit 150 people. Tickets were sold in school and throughout the days leading up to the event, for $15 a head. All the proceeds we made that night, $3500+, is going directly to those who were hit by Sandy, especially towards rebuilding the education system in areas extremely affected.

Several local newspapers covered the event:
Wyckoff Patch

Oakland Patch

Bergen Record

Fourshadows is a local band comprised of four Ramapo High School students- Nate Chung, Jeremy Zucker, Josh Key and Jason Diamond. They were formed in October 2011 because they were interested in allowing music to be a greater part of their lives. Fourshadows combines genres from rock, pop, alternative rock, acoustic rock, and singer/songwriter. They focus on writing and performing original material, but also like to put their own spin on covers.

They have a great sound and you can check out their music and more about them on YouTube or Facebook
